Posting Through Scribe
Posted by Skyre under Mobile Phones | Tags: E61i, freeware, Mobile Phones, s60, Scribe, Technology |I’m here at a nearby wi-fi hotspot trying out Scribe for the first time on my E61i (because I’m too cheap to pay for 3G).
Its current version is definitely bare, but if you’re able to read this post, then Scribe has done its job. Everything, from the text to categories to tags, was done through Scribe.

Hi!
I was wondering, as you have used “Scribe”, would it be possible for you to compare and tell me what’s the difference between using “Scribe” to post and using the Mobile website “m.wordpress.com” to post on wordpress?
I’ve used m.wordpress.com fairly often to post through my phone’s browser, so I was wondering if Scribe is providing anything extra or better?
I’ll really appreciate if you could give me your opinion. Thanks in advance!

Hi, thanks for the comment Mimi.
Well, Scribe is pretty clumsy as it is right now, but it does the job.
I’ve yet to try m.wordpress.com though! I’ll try to do a comparison soon.

Hi! Thanks for your reply.
Here’s the FAQ about m.wordpress.com
http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/17/can-i-blog-by-email-moblog/
It says that we can use m.wordpress.com on our normal browsers too. I hope I’m not being too pushy,
but could you try m.wordpress.com on your PC browser and give a comparison between them?
Thing is that I have to buy a new cellphone and have to decide between a Non-symbian Sony Ericsson & a Symbian Nokia phone. As I normally blog through OperaMini using m.wordpress, I’m wondering if it’s going to be worth getting a symbian phone to get Scribe.
Will definitely wait for your review.
Take care!

I took a quick glance and I saw that m.wordpress.com only allows you to view minor stats as well as post new entries. You can put in tags but not categories.
With Scribe, I don’t think you can view stats, but you can put in both tags and a category (yep, only 1) for your posts. Scribe also allows you to manage your drafts and older posts.
Well those are the basic differences I’ve seen so far. I hope that helps.
I’ll try to do a full comparison for my next post (which has been loooong overdue).
